Ice everywhere

Well thankfully I never lost power during the recent ice and snow storm. Since it has not been above freezing since the storm, you can still see ice everywhere- on trees, powerlines, even all over my deck. It actually looks very scenic reflecting light from streetlights. I feel sorry for lose that lost power, but I think they are all back on now. I have to say the tv stations did quite a job of hyping the storm, but looks like it was warranted. We were actually lucky the storm was not worse than it was, but I can live with surprises like that one.

You can read all about the ice storm by clicking below, all sorts of good stuff from KC's own Channel 5:

Another new arena for the KC metro area

Well, as expected, now the KC metro will have 2 new arena's. Overland Park will also have a new arena, although it will be smaller than the planned "Sprint Center" in downtown Kansas City. Not sure if we need 2 new arena's when we have Kemper already, but there are probably between 1.8 and 2 million people in the metro so who knows. OP's new arena just one state financing, something needed for the project to move forward.

You can read about it here:

As the article also mentions, the suburb of Olathe is also trying to get their own arena. I would really have to question the wisdom of building 3 new arena's in the same metro in the same decade, not sure that is too wise. Since that project is the farthest behind, they may be the odd man out this time.
